The Buffalo Bills place OLB Shawne Merriman on I.R.

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 26 October 2011 at 7:26 pm

The Bills have placed 27-year old OLB Shawne Merriman on the Injured Reserve List (ending his season) due to a Achilles injury.  Merriman played in 5 games for the Bills this year and he had 9 tackles and 1 sack.  The Bills took a gamble with Merriman, and they lost.  This could be it for his NFL career.  Merriman has played in 65 games in his 7 years in the NFL and he has 241 tackles, 44.5 sacks, 17 tackles for a loss, 8 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 16 passes defensed and 1 interception.

The Buffalo Bills lose OLB Chris Kelsay indefinitely

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports,Need to step up by admin on Friday 7 October 2011 at 11:51 pm

The Bills will be without 31-year old DE Chris Kelsay indefinitely due to a strained calf muscle.  Kelsay has played in all four of the Bills games so far this year and he has 7 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  Look for 23-year old Danny Batten to take over Kelsay’s old starting job until he’s ready to return to action.  Batten has played in all four games for the Bills so far this year and he has 7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 fumble recovery.

The Buffalo Bills lose CB Aaron Williams for a while

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 27 September 2011 at 1:10 pm

The Bills will be without rookie CB Aaron Williams for a while due to an injury in his chest around the collarbone area.  Williams has played in all 3 of the Bills’ games so far this year and he has 11 tackles.  The Bills are giving up 271.7 yards passing per game so far, so they can’t afford to lose any DBs.  The Bills hope that Williams recovers sooner than expected because they are going to need him.

The Buffalo Bills are going to be without WR/PR Roscoe Parrish for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 20 September 2011 at 2:02 pm

29-year old WR/PR Roscoe Parrish is going to miss a while with a injured left ankle.  Parrish has played in 1 game for the Bills this year and he has caught 1 pass for 16 yards.  He has also returned 5 punts for 46 yards (9.2 avg) so far this year.  David Nelson will replace Parrish at WR and he’s having a solid year already.  Nelson has played in both of the Bills games this year and he has already caught 14 passes for 149 yards (10.6 avg) with 1 TD grab.  C.J. Spiller will likely replace Parrish on punt returns.  He has returned 1 punt for 5 yards for the Bills so far this year.  I have a feeling that Spiller is going to do a solid job while Parrish is out of action.

The Buffalo Bills lose starting guard Keith Urbik for a while

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports,Need to step up by admin on Tuesday 20 September 2011 at 1:58 pm

The Buffalo Bills have lost starting guard Kraig Urbik for the next 2-4 weeks due to a sprained MCL.  He started the first two games for the Bills this year.  26-year old Chad Rinehart will replace him in the starting lineup and he played pretty well against the Raiders last week after Urbik was injured.  Rinehart has played in 10 games (7 starts) in his first four years in the NFL.  The Bills have confidence that Rinehart will do a decent job while Urbik is out of action.

The Buffalo Bills sign a defensive player and place one on I.R.

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Thursday 15 September 2011 at 12:49 am

The Bills have re-signed 27-year old cornerback Reggie Corner and they have placed 22-year old rookie LB Robert Eddins on I.R. (foot).  Corner played in all 16 games for the Bills last year and he had 25 tackles, 1 sack and 5 passes defensed.  He has played in 44 games in his first three years with the Bills and he has 114 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 18 passes defensed and 1 interception.  The Bills needed help in the secondary due to Terrence McGee’s injury, so they were lucky that Corner was still available.  Robert Eddins worked his butt off to make the Bills’ opening day roster as a undrafted rookie out of Ball State, so this is quite some bad luck for him.  He played in the season opener against the Chiefs but he didn’t have any tackles.

The Buffalo Bills place WR Marcus Easley on I.R.

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 13 September 2011 at 9:40 pm

The Buffalo Bills have placed 23-year old WR Marcus Easley on the Injured Reserve List due to an undisclosed illness.  This is the second season in a row that Easley’s season ended before it began.  This is a tough break for the kid, as he’s starting to get a bad reputation due to his injuries.  The Bills could have used him this year, so it’s a blow to Easley.

The Buffalo Bills lose CB Terrence McGee for a couple of weeks

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 13 September 2011 at 12:42 pm

The Buffalo Bills will be without 30-year old cornerback Terrence McGee for the next few weeks due to a hamstring injury.  Terrence McGee played in the season opener against the Chiefs but he didn’t have any tackles.  McGee has played in 110 games in his first 9 years with the Bills and he has 484 tackles, 17 interceptions (1 TD return), 94 passes defensed, 3 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries and 14 tackles for a loss.  The Bills hope that McGee returns to action soon, as they need him.

The Buffalo Bills will be without Arthur Moats for the first few weeks of 2011

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 6 September 2011 at 1:47 pm

The Bills will be without 23-year old OLB Arthur Moats for the first few weeks of the 2011 season due to a calf injury.  He played in 15 games as a rookie for the Bills last year and he had 33 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass defensed.  This is a bad break for the Bills as Moats looked pretty solid as a rookie last year.  He is a Chan Gailey favorite.

The Buffalo Bills lose Reggie Torbor for the year

Blogged under Big Bills News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General Bills Chatter,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 26 August 2011 at 12:34 pm

The Buffalo Bills have lost 30-year old inside linebacker Reggie Torbor for the 2011 season due to a shoulder injury.  Torbor played in 10 games for the Bills last year and he had 41 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 4 passes defensed.  He has now played in 104 games in his first 7 years in the NFL and he has 241 tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, 13 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  He will hope to continue his NFL career in 2012 with the Bills.
