The Buffalo Bills were good offensively and pretty terrible defensively yesterday, which has pretty much been the case all year so far.  Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 21 of 30 passes for 244 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 8 yards (2.7 ypc) in this game.  Fred Jackson led the way on the ground for the Bills in this game with 121 yards on 16 carries (7.6 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 5 passes for 47 yards (9.4 avg).  Brad Smith carrried the ball 4 times for 26 yards (6.5 ypc) in this game.  C.J. Spiller didn’t carry the ball at all but he did catch 5 passes for 39 yards (7.8 avg).  WRs Naaman Roosevelt (1 rec, 60 yards, TD), David Nelson (4 rec, 62 yards) and Steve Johnson (5 rec, 39 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Bills yesterday.  The Bills finished up with 155 yards rushing on 23 carries (6.7 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 30 passes for 219 yards as they had possession of the ball for 29:13.

The defense was pretty lousy for the Bills in this game.  CB Terrence McGee (11 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 passes defensed) and safety George Wilson (10 tackles) led the way for the Bills on D in this game.  CB Drayton Florence (7 tackles) and DE Dwan Edwards (7 tackles) also pitched in for the Bills.  The Giants finished up with 122 yards rushing on 33 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 32 passes (65.6%) for 292 yards in this game.  The Bills are now 4-2 on the year.

The Buffalo Bills made big plays on both sides of the ball in a rather impressive home win earlier today.  Ryan Fitzpatrick was really sharp today as he completed 21 of 27 passes for 193 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  Fred Jackson made the biggest impact in this game for the Bills on offense.  He carried the ball 26 times for 111 yards (4.3 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 6 passes for 85 yards (14.2 avg).  Brad Smith pitched in with 12 yards rushing on 4 carries (3.0 ypc) with 1 TD run.  WRs Naaman Roosevelt (5 rec, 41 yards), Steve Johnson (4 rec, 29 yards) and David Nelson (1 rec, 6 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Bills in the passing game today.  The Bills finished up this game with 143 yards rushing on 35 carries (4.1 ypc) and they also completed 21 of 27 passes (77.8%) for 188 yards as they had possession of the ball for 33:38.

Safeties George Wilson (11 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 3 passes defensed, 1 QB hit and 1 interception) and Jairus Byrd (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery) led the way for the Bills’ defense today.  LB Nick Barnett (3 tackles, 2 passes defensed and 2 interceptions (one of which he returned 31 yards for a TD)) and CB Reggie Corner (interception) also pitched in with huge plays for the Bills today.  The Eagles finished up with 174 yards rushing on 19 carries (9.2 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 40 passes (65%) for 315 yards.  The Bills are now 4-1 on the year.

Cincinnati Bengals 23, Buffalo Bills 20

The Bills blew a 20-13 lead in the 4th quarter as the Bengals scored the last ten points of this game.  The final three points came off the foot of kicker Mike Nugent who nailed a 43-yard field goal as time expired.  Ryan Fitzpatrick came back down to earth today ass he completed 20 of 34 passes for 199 yards without a TD pass or interception.  He also carried the ball 1 time for 5 yards.  Fred Jackson led the way on the ground for the Bills today with 66 yards rushing on 17 carries (3.9 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 5 passes for 32 yards (6.4 avg) in this game.  WR Steve Johnson led the way through the air with 4 grabs for 58 yards (14.5 avg) today.  The Bills finished up with 83 yards rushing on 21 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 34 passes (58.8%) for 190 yards as they had possession of the ball for 28:39.

The defense pretty much sucked today for the Bills.  Safety George Wilson (12 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception), LB Nick Barnett (10 tackles) and DE Dwan Edwards (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) led the way for the Bills’ D today.  Safety Bryan Scott pitched in with 2 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception which he returned 43 yards for a TD.  The Bengals finished up with 171 yards rushing on 32 carries (5.3 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 36 passes (50%) for 287 yards.  The Bills are now 3-1 on the year.

Kicker Rian Lindell made a 28-yard field goal as time expired to give the Bills a sweet win over the Patriots in Buffalo yesterday. The Bills’ offense was excellent yesterday and the defense picked off Tom Brady 4 times, returning one of them for a TD, so this was an entire team effort.  Ryan Fitzpatrick was very solid again as he completed 27 of 40 passes for 369 yards with 2 TD passes and 2 INTs.  Fred Jackson was very effective in this game also with 12 carries for 74 yards (6.2 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 5 passes for 87 yards (17.4 avg).  WRs Donald Jones (5 rec, 101 yards), Steve Johnson (8 rec, 94 yards, TD) and David Nelson (6 rec, 84 yards) led the way for the Bills in the passing game.  TE Scott Chandler pitched in with 2 grabs for 10 yards (5.0 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Bills finished up with 79 yards rushing on 20 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 40 passes (67.5%) for 369 yards as they had possession of  the ball for 28:45.

Safeties Jairus Byrd (11 tackles, 2 passes defensed), George Wilson (11 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and Bryan Scott (11 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) and LB Nick Barnett (11 tackles) led the way for the Bills’ D yesterday.  CBs Leodis McKelvin (interception) and Drayton Florence (interception that he returned 27 yards for a TD in the 4th quarter) also made huge plays for the Bills in this game.  The Patriots finished up with 108 yards rushing on 26 carries (4.2 ypc) and they also completed 30 of 45 passes (66.7%) for 387 yards in this game.  The Bills are now 3-0 on the season.

This was a truly amazing win for the Bills as they were down 21-3 at the half.  The Bills scored a TD in all five possessions in the second half of the game yesterday!  The last TD came on a 6-yard TD pass to David Nelson from Ryan Fitzpatrick with only 14 seconds left in the game!  Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 28 of 46 passes for 264 yards with 3 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 23 yards (7.7 ypc) as they was outstanding yesterday.  Fred Jackson also had a monster game with 15 carries for 117 yards (7.8 ypc) with 2 TD runs and he also caught 2 passes for 23 yards (11.5 avg).  C.J. Spiller was also electric with 4 carries for 63 yards (15.8 ypc) in this game.  Despite playing with a groin injury, Steve Johnson led the way in the passing game with 96 yards on 8 grabs (12.0 avg) with 1 TD catch.  David Nelson also stepped up as he caught 10 passes for 83 yards (8.3 avg) with 1 TD grab (the game winner).  TE Scott Chandler pitched in with 2 grabs for 16 yards (8.0 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Bills finished up with 217 yards rushing on 25 carries (8.7 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 46 passes for 264 yards as they had possession of the ball for 30:47.

The defense was awful for the Bills yesterday as the Raiders did whatever they wanted to offensively.  LB Nick Barnett (14 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), safety Jairus Byrd (10 tackles) and George Wilson (8 tackles) led the way for the Bills on D in this game.  LB Danny Batten (2 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) also pitched in.  Rookie safety Da’Norris Searcy made the play of the game though as he intercepted a pass in the end zone on a Hail Mary by the Raiders to end this game.  The Raiders finished up with 131 yards on 30 carries (4.4 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 33 passes (69.7%) for 323 yards in this game.  The Bills are now 2-0 on the season.

Buffalo Bills 41, Kansas City Chiefs 7

The Buffalo Bills took the Chiefs behind the woodshed at Arrowhead Stadium today.  The Bills were ball hogs which helped them protect their defense against the Chiefs.  Ryan Fitzpatrick had an incredible game as he completed 17 of 25 passes for 208 yards with 4 TD passes and 0 INTs.  Fred Jackson led the way for the Bills on the ground in this game with 20 carries for 112 yards (5.6 ypc).  Johnny White (8 carries for 26 yards) and C.J. Spiller (5 carries, 16 yards, TD) also had some nice runs when Jackson needed a break.  Ryan Fitzpatrick was looking for TE Scott Chandler a lot more than expected as he caught 5 passes for 63 yards (12.6 avg) with 2 TD grabs in this game.  WRs Steve Johnson (4 rec, 66 yards, TD), David Nelson (4 grabs for 66 yards) and Donald Jones (2 rec, 3 yards, TD) also got a lot of looks from Fitzpatrick today.  The Bills finished up with 163 yards rushing on 39 carries (4.2 ypc) and they completed 17 of 26 passes (65.4%) for 201 yards as they had possession of the ball for 37:02.

The Bills’ D kept taking the ball away from the Chiefs in this game.  Safety Bryan Scott led the way for he Bills’ D today with 9 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit.  CB Leodis McKelvin (4 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 fumble recovery), LB Kelvin Sheppard (2 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss and 1 fumble recovery) and CB Drayton Florence (2 tackles, 2 passes defensed and a interception that he returned 30 yards) also made big plays on D in this game.  The Chiefs finished up with 108 yards rushing on 18 carries (6.0 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 26 passes (65.4%) for 201 yards.  The Bills got a huge win on the road today as they have started the 2011 season with a 1-0 record.

New York Jets 38, Buffalo Bills 7

Ryan Fitzpatrick didn’t play yesterday due to a knee problem but that was no excuse for the beating the Bills took in New Jersey yesterday.  Brian Brohm got the start at QB yesterday and he completed 10 of 23 passes for 106 yards with 0 TD passes and 3 INTs.  One of Brohm’s interceptions was returned 35 yards for a TD by CB Marquice Cole and Brohm also lost a fumble.  Rookie Levi Brown finished up this game at QB by completing 2 of 3 passes for 24 yards with 1 INT.  Fred Jackson led the way on the ground for the Bills in this game with 35 yards rushing on 13 carries (2.7 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 13 yards.  C.J. Spiller only got 3 carries and he could only muster 5 yards (1.7 ypc) rushing against the Jets.  WRs Steve Johnson (5 rec, 72 yards) and Naaman Roosevelt (3 rec, 30 yards) also had solid games for the Bills yesterday.  The Bills finished up with 37 yards rushing on 18 carries (2.1 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 26 passes for 125 yards as they only had possession of the football for 24:25.

The defense was awful for the Bills yesterday playing against mostly Jets’ backups.  LBs Akin Ayodele (13 tackles), Paul Poslusny (12 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and Chris Kelsay (9 tackles, 1 pass defense) led the way for the Bills’ “D” in this game.  Safety Jairus Byrd (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and a interception that he returned 37 yards for a TD off Mark Brunell).  The Jets finished up with 276 yards rushing on 50 carries (5.5 ypc) and they also completed 8 of 15 passes for 112 yards.  The Bills finished in last place in the AFC East with a 4-12 record.

New England Patriots 34, Buffalo Bills 3

The Bills had no chance in this game as they turned the ball over 7 times and it’s almost impossible to win when you do that.  Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 18 of 37 passes for 251 yards with 0 TD passes and 3 INTs.  He also lost 2 fumbles in this game.  Fitzpatrick rushed for 14 yards on 2 carries (7.0 ypc) also.  Fred Jackson led the way on the ground for the Bills in this game with 81 yards rushing on 13 carries (6.2 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 11 yards (5.5 avg).  C.J. Spiller carried the ball 6 times for 30 yards (5.0 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 54 yards (27.0 avg) in this game.  But, Spiller also lost a fumble.  WRs Naaman Roosevelt (4 rec, 74 yards), Steve Johnson (5 rec, 58 yards) and Donald Jones (5 rec, 54 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Bills today.  The Bills finished up with 125 yards rushing on 21 carries (6.0 ypc) in this game and they also completed 18 of 37 passes for 244 yards.

The defense had to defend a lot of short fields in this game but they didn’t play well either.  LB Akin Ayodele (17 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), LB Paul Poslusny (13 tackles), safety Donte Whitner (12 tackles, 1 pass defensed) and safety Jairus Byrd (8 tackles) led the way for the Bills on D.  The Patriots finished up with 217 yards rushing on 41 carries (5.3 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 27 passes for 131 yards.  The Bills are now 4-11 on the season.

Buffalo Bills 17, Miami Dolphins 14

The Buffalo Bills played hard in this game but they were aided by the fact that Dolphins’ kicker Dan Carpenter was o for 4 on field goals.  Ryan Fitzpatrick was solid in this game for the Bills as he completed 16 of 26 passes for 223 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 19 yards (6.3 ypc).  Fred Jackson had a hard time yesterday with 36 yards rushing on 15 carries (2.4 ypc).  C.J. Spiller pitched in with 9 carries for 16 yards (1.8 ypc) but he also caught 2 passes for 21 yards (10.5 avg).  Steve Johnson (6 rec, 69 yards, TD) and David Nelson (3 rec, 61 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game for the Bills.  The Bills finished up with 71 yards rushing on 27 carries (2.6 ypc) and they also completed 16 of 26 passes for 211 yards.

Safety Donte Whitner (8 tackles, 1/2 a sack and 1 QB hit) and rookie LB Arthur Moats (6 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss and 2 QB hits) led the way for the Bills in this game.  Safety George Wilson also pitched in with a interception.  The Dolphins finished up with 65 yards rushing on 19 carries (3.4 ypc) and they also completed 33 of 45 passes for 261 yards.  The Bills are now 4-10 on the year.

The Bills won this game by running the ball on offense and playing solid defense.  Ryan Fitzpatrick was solid for the Bills in this game.  He completed 14 of 23 passes for 142 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 4 times for 49 yards (12.3 ypc) in this game.  Fred Jackson was tough with the ball in his hands today as he carried the ball 29 times for 112 yards (3.9 ypc).  C.J. Spiller pitched in with 33 yards rushing on 8 carries (4.1 ypc) in this game.  TE Jonathan Stupar (3 rec, 45 yards), WR Steve Johnson (5 rec, 42 yards) and WR David Nelson (1 rec, 11 yards, TD) led the way for the Bills in the passing game.  The Bills finished up with 192 yards rushing on 46 carries (4.6 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 23 passes for 131 yards as they had possession of the ball for 36:10.

LB Akin Ayodele (10 tackles, 1 pass defensed), LB Paul Poslusny (9 tackles) and safety Jairus Byrd (8 tackles) led the way for the Bills on D in this game.  CB Leodis McKelvin (interception), NT Kyle Williams (fumble recovery) and safety Bryan Scott (fumble recovery) all had huge plays on D for the Bills today.  The Browns finished up with 105 yards rushing on 25 carries (4.2 ypc) and they also completed 12 of 20 passes for 82 yards in this game as the Bills’ D was outstanding.  The Bills are now 3-10 on the season after this hard fought win.
