The Bills have signed TE Courtney Anderson to a 2-year contract.  Anderson is a 6′6″, 270 pound mountain of a man at the TE position.  He played in 4 games for the Falcons & Lions last season but he didn’t catch any passes.  He has now played in 43 games (28 starts) in his NFL career and he has caught 62 passes for 763 yards (12.3 avg) with 6 TD grabs.  This was a nice minor gamble for the Bills to take as Anderson has been a starter in the league.

The Bills have signed DT Spencer Johnson to a 5-year contract.  Johnson played in 16 games last season with the Vikings and he made 22 tackles, had 3 sacks and forced a fumble.  He has now played in 49 games in his NFL career and he has made 106 tackles, defensed 3 passes, has 4 sacks and he’s forced 1 fumble.  Johnson will likely team inside with Marcus Stroud which will improve the run defense of the Bills big-time.

The Bills have acquired DT Marcus Stroud from the Jaguars for a 3rd and 5th round pick in this year’s Draft.  Stroud played in 9 games for the Jaguars last season and he made 22 tackles, defensed 2 passes and sacked the QB three times.  He has now played in 100 games in his NFL career and he has made 278 tackles, defensed 23 passes, has 22 sacks and he’s forced 6 fumbles.  If Stroud stays healthy this will be a good move for the Bills who needed help against the run.
