The Bills haven’t wasted any time as free agency opened as they’ve already signed 3 offensive linemen. 26 year old guard Derrick Dockery was signed to a 7 year, $49 million dollar contract! The 6’6″, 335 pound Dockery started all 16 games last season for the Redskins. Over his four year career, Dockery has played in 64 games and started 61 of them. He will immediately step into the starting line up at guard for the Bills.
The Bills didn’t stop their as they signed massive OT Langston Walker to a 5 year contract. The 6’8″, 345 pound lineman will likely start at right tackle for the Bills. He also can play guard if the Bills need him to. He has played in 66 games (33 starts) in his career so far. He started all 16 games last season for the Raiders. He’s known for his nasty run blocking.
The Bills also signed OL Jason Whittle to a 1 year, $720,000 contract. Whittle is 32 years old and will likely back up for the Bills at every position along the O-Line. He played in all 16 games last season for the Vikings, but he only started 2 of them. He has played in 125 games over his career and he’s started 42 of them.
This has been a good day for the Bills as they needed to rebuild their offensive line and today was a good start.
