The Bills re-sign Shaud Williams

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General Bills Chatter by dawgpounded on Wednesday 28 February 2007 at 10:40 pm

The Bills have re-signed Shaud Williams. He played in 5 games last season and only carried the ball 2 times for 2 yards (1.0 ypc). For his career, Williams has played in 25 games and carried the ball 89 times for 330 yards (3.7 ypc) with 2 TD runs. The signing of Williams makes a lot of sense for the Bills who are shopping Willis McGahee for some dumb reason.

The Bills have re-signed DE Chris Kelsay to a 4 year, $23 million contract. Kelsay had a solid season for the Bills last year as he played in all 16 games and he made 61 tackles, sacked the QB 5.5 times, defensed 4 passes, recovered a fumble and forced a fumble. Signing Kelsay was a good move by the Bills front office.

The Buffalo Bills didn’t use their tight ends in the offense too much last season. The Bills’ tight ends only caught 31 passes for 284 yards with 4 TD grabs as a unit. Robert Royal was the best of a under-utilized bunch. He played in all 16 games (15 starts) and he caught 23 passes for 233 yards (10.1 avg.) with 3 TD catches. For his career, Royal has played in 51 games (44 starts) and has caught 54 passes for 482 yards (8.9 avg.) with 8 TD grabs.

Brad Cieslak didn’t do much last season. He played in 7 games (2 starts) and he caught 6 passes for 46 yards (7.7 avg). For his career, he’s played in 9 games (2 starts) and has caught 6 passes for 46 yards (7.7 avg).

Ryan Neufeld played mostly on special teams for the Bills. He played in 9 games (0 starts) and he caught 1 pass for 4 yards (4.0 avg) with a TD grab. For his career, Neufeld has played in 63 games (6 starts) and he’s caught 11 passes for 115 yards (10.5 avg) with 1 TD grab.

Kevin Everett played all 16 games (4 starts) for the Bills this season but he only caught 1 pass for 1 yard.
