Buffalo Bills vs. Indianapolis Colts

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Thursday 9 November 2006 at 3:44 pm

The Buffalo Bills will try to win their second game in a row after defeating the Packers 24-10 last week. The Colts look to stay undefeated this season and take care of business at home on Sunday.

The Buffalo Bills to have one thing going for them this Sunday…..the Colts run defense! The Colts have allowed 165.4 yards rushing per game this season and 5.3 yards per carry. Look for the Bills to run the ball every play if they have to. The A-Train (Anthony Thomas) is getting the start at tailback and he’s the kind of bruiser that gives the Colts headaches. The Colts will probably go all out to stop Thomas and dare Losman to try to beat them with his arm. If the Bills give Losman time (he’s been sacked 26 times this season) he should be able to get the ball downfield against the Colts pass defense.

The Colts will probably come out running the ball with Joe Addai (490 yards rushing) and Dominic Rhodes (312 yards rushing) to eat some clock and keep the Bills offense off of the field. After the Colts establish the running game, look for Peyton Manning to kill them with play-action passes to Marvin Harrison (52 rec, 698 yards) and Reggie Wayne (44 rec, 732 yards). Manning also has been throwing to his tight-ends (Dallas Clark & Ben Utecht) often, so the Bills’ rookie safeties (Donte’ Whitner and Ko Simpson) will be tested early & often.

This should be a game where the Colts can breathe easy and coast to a victory.

Is Losman really the future of the Buffalo Bills at QB?

Losman does a couple of things well, but some things about him drive me nuts. He’s a good runner, but he fumbles the ball ALOT! He really needs to make better decisions on the field or the Bills will not get any better as a team. J.P. has completed 61.3% of his passes for 1,415 yards passing with 7 TDs and 6 INT. Losman has a QB rating of 80.2, which is pretty good. Losman needs to get rid of the ball a little quicker as he has suffered 26 sacks this season. JP is a good scrambler when he holds onto the football, as he has carried the ball 22 times for 80 yards (3.6 ypc) and a TD. Losman has the rest of this season to prove if he is the QB of the future for the Bills or not!

Bills offense suffers huge injuries

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Injury Reports by ravenhater on Tuesday 7 November 2006 at 3:01 pm

The Bills suffered a huge injury on their offense when Willis McGahee broke a rib in the first quarter against the Packers. McGahee will miss at least two weeks. The injury opens the door for Anthony “A-Train” Thomas to get alot of carries and get his career back on the right track. Thomas played really well against the Packers in his first extensive action on the season.

#3 WR Josh Reed is hospitalized with a bruised kidney. His status for the future is unknown, but he is definately out for this week against the Colts.

Somehow the Bills beat the Packers 24-10

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by ravenhater on Sunday 5 November 2006 at 10:07 pm

The Bills capitalized on some big errors by Brett Favre to beat the Packers. The Packers out-gained the Bills 427-184, but the Bills still won the game! JP Losman completed only 8 of 15 passes for 102 yards and a TD. Willis McGahee carried the ball 4 times for 15 yards (3.8 ypc) and left he game with injured ribs. Anthony “A-Train” Thomas carried the ball 20 times for 95 yards (4.8 ypc) and a TD. Lee Evans was the leading receiver with 2 catches for 58 yards and a TD.

London Fletcher led the way on defense with 14 tackles, 4 passes defensed and an interception that he returned 17 yards for a TD! Nate Clements (9 tackles), Takeo Spikes (9 tackles) and Ko Simpson (6 tackles and an interception that was returned 76 yards) also played well on defense. The Bills couldn’t stop the Packers running game, as they had 30 carries for 147 yards (4.9 ypc). The Packers completed 28 of 47 passes for 280 net yards passing.

It’s amazing that the Bills won this football game!

Bills vs. Packers

Blogged under Front Page, This Week's Matchup Report by ravenhater on Wednesday 1 November 2006 at 2:23 pm

The Packers are on a two-game winning streak and are feeling good about themselves. The Bills are in a three-game tailspin in which they’ve been outscored 88-30!

The Packers will look to run the ball with Ahman Green and Vernand Morency against a Bills defense that is allowing 113.9 yards rushing per game and 4.1 yards per carry. The Bills pass defense (200.4 yards per game) is nothing to write home about, so look for Brett Favre to attack the rookie safeties after the Packers establish their running game. The Bills have been aggressive rushing the passer with 21 sacks this season, but the Packers O-Line is doing a great job of keeping Brett Favre clean, only allowing 9 sacks so far this season!

The Bills would like to run the ball with Willis McGahee (564 yards rushing), but the Packers are pretty stout against the run allowing only 94.9 yards rushing per game and 3.7 yards per carry. The Bills really don’t have the right players on offense to exploit the Packers defensive weakness, which is pass defense. The Packers allow 270.3 net yards passing per game. Lee Evans might be able to get downfield, but will Losman have the time to throw. The Bills have juggled their offensive line and will be starting a rookie, seventh round draft pick across the line from DE Aaron Kampman who already has 8.5 sacks this season.

Bills fans will start chanting…..KELLY…..KELLY…..KELLY, by the end of the 2nd quarter in this football game. Look for the Packers to continue rolling over a bad Buffalo Bills football team.
