Bills win at final gun 27-24 over Jaguars

The Bills needed some big plays to pull out this football game. The Jags had tied the score with 28 seconds left to play, but the Bills got Rian Lindell in position to attempt a 42-yard, game-winning field-goal as time expired…..and he nailed it! Another huge play in this football game was turned in by Roscoe Parrish who returned a punt 82 yards for a TD!

J.P. Losman completed 21 of 28 passes for 169 yards and an INT. Willis McGahee returned and carried the ball 12 times for 63 yards (5.3 ypc) and 2 TDs. Lee Evans led the receiving corps with 5 receptions for 58 yards.

The defense had a hard time with the Jags running game as they carried the ball 35 times for 207 yards (5.9 ypc). The Bills allowed the Jags to complete 16 of 22 passes for 116 net yards passing.

The Bills improved to 5-6 on the season with this win.

Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars are starting to get hot as they have won three of their last four games. The Bills also have played better lately and have won 2 of their last 3 games.

The Bills will probably get back to their running game as they might have Willis McGahee back for the game. With the temperature expected to be in the 30’s with a chance of snow, this game will be decided on the ground. McGahee & Thomas will have a rough time possibly against the rugged Jags defense that is allowing 95.8 yards rushing per game and 3.5 yards per carry. J.P. Losman had one of the best games of his career last week, but he better be careful with Rashean Mathis probably drawing the coverage on Lee Evans. Evans had a monster game last week with 11 receptions for 265 yards and 2 TDs, but Mathis already has 6 interceptions on the season.

The Jags will undoubtedly come out running the football with Fred Taylor (775 yards rushing), Maurice Drew (376 yards rushing) and David Garrard against the Bills defense which is allowing 128.0 yards rushing per game and 4.6 yards per carry. The Jags really don’t have the speed at WR to exploit the Bills problems in the secondary (212.8 net yards passing per game).

Look for this to be a low-scoring football game. The Jags seem a little better equipped to win this type of game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Bills won either.

Losman leads Bills to 24-21 victory over the Texans

J.P. Losman hit Peerless Price for the game-winning 15 yard TD pass with 9 seconds left in the football game. The Bills rolled up 403 yards on offense and that led them to victory.

J.P. Losman wound up being a hero, but he almost was the goat after Dunta Robinson picked him off and returned it for the go-ahead TD in the third quarter….but Losman showed some poise on the 55 yard, game-winning TD drive in the 4th quarter. Losman completed 26 of 38 passes for 340 yards with 3 TDs and 1 INT, he also rushed twice for 14 yards. Anthony Thomas carried the ball 19 times for 56 yards (2.9 ypc) and caught 7 passes for 33 yards. Lee Evans had a monster game with 11 receptions for 265 yards with 2 TDs. Both of Evans TDs were 83 yarders in the first quarter. Peerless Price added two catches for 21 yards including the game-winning TD.

The defense was led by London Fletcher (10 tackles), Angelo Crowell (10 tackles) and Nate Clements (4 tackles, interception and a fumble recovery). The Bills defense didn’t play to well as they allowed the Bills to run for 188 yards on 27 carries (7.0 ypc). David Carr tied an NFL record against the Bills when he completed 22 straight passes in this football game. The Texans completed 25 of 30 passes for 209 net yards passing.

This was a great road win for the Bills.

Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans

These two teams are pretty evenly matched as they both have bad offenses & defenses. The Bills are coming off of a great effort in a losing cause against the Colts. The Texans just finished their sweep of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Look for the Bills to come into this game with the same plan they always do….to run the football. The A-Train (Anthony Thomas) went over 100 yards rushing last week against the Colts and he should have success again against a Texans defense that allows 131.3 yards rushing per game and 4.6 yards per carry. Look for the Bills to let Losman try to go deep a few times to Lee Evans (44 rec, 557 yards) because of the Texans weak secondary. The Texans allow 215.1 yards passing per game and allow the opposing QB to have a rating of 90.8 against them.Â

The Texans will also look to run the ball early to set up their passing game. Look for Samkon Gado and Wali Lundy to test out the Bills defense that is allowing 121.3 yards rushing per game and 4.3 yards per carry. If David Carr’s bruised shoulder is up to it, look for the Texans to challenge the Bills CBs deep. Andre Johnson (68 rec, 808 yards) and Eric Moulds (who wants to stick it to his old team) should be able to get open, especially whoever Terrance McGee is covering.

I think I will have to side with the Texans in a close game. The Texans have the better QB and they’re at home.

Bills lose a tough one to Colts 17-16

The Bills wanted to play ball control offense and try to play keep away and it almost worked. J.P. Losman didn’t do too much completing 9 of 13 passes for 83 yards. Anthony “A-Train” Thomas had a good game running the ball with 28 carries for 109 yards (3.9 ypc). Lee Evans was the leading receiver with 5 catches for 70 yards. Peerless Price pitched in with 4 catches for 13 yards.

The defense played hard and only allowed 17 points to the high-powered Indianapolis Colts. London Fletcher led the way with 14 tackles. Angelo Crowell was all over the field with 12 tackles. Takeo Spikes had an active game with 9 stops. CB Terrence McGee had 6 tackles and returned a fumble 68 yards for a TD. The Colts ran the ball 29 times for 148 yards (5.1 ypc). The Colts completed 27 of 39 passes for 236 net yards passing.

The Bills plan almost worked.
